Several milestones require a visit to a Rendezvous Point.Milestones can be pinned as your active mission via the Expedition Page, which offers targeted guidance towards their goal.The Expedition Page will show all earned mission patches, as well as track key exploration stats.These challenges, called milestones, can be undertaken in any order. Completing challenges awards a mission patch and unlocks rewards to assist your progress. Players have a fixed period in which to complete a unique set of new challenges. Every player beginning an expedition starts on the same planet.Their starting technology is also randomised. (But they can appear anywhere in the sky!) Generally, the best viewing will be after midnight, once Boötes rises above your local horizon. The meteors appear to radiate from the constellation Boötes, which includes the bright star Arcturus. You should be able to see a few meteors on the couple of nights before and after as well.įor the best Quadrantid meteor viewing, find a dark location away from bright city lights, point your feet roughly toward the northeast, and look up.
This year the peak coincides with the new moon, making for great viewing conditions, provided the skies are clear. This tends to be one of the better meteor showers of the year, and often produces a number of bright meteors called fireballs. The Quadrantid meteor shower peaks on the night of January 2nd and the morning of the 3rd.
